We are looking for an Experienced Creative Children’s Content Editor and Project Manager for Educational Publishing to join us at CWLA.
We are a dispersed team of 40 creatives, from writers to designers to illustrators and deal makers, bringing to life amazing children’s content.

This role is now suitable for remote working, but we are looking for someone based in the UK. We are looking for an individual with a formal education in English or a related field.
Experience in the Educational Publishing Industry is essential.
As Editor and Project Manager, you will help our creative team to edit and generate content for all genres of children’s content, i.e children’s books (picture & chapter books), scriptwriting, learning materials and social media content. You will also be responsible for overseeing our educational projects by briefing illustrators, checking assets, project management, quality management and editing educational content. You will be required to attend client meetings and liaise with designers and illustrators.
You will have the chance to work alongside best selling authors as well as established illustrators and have a team of artists and designers available to bring ideas to life. Our clients are…you name it! We deal with pretty much all the world publishers, as well as major pharmaceutical companies etc.

The Experienced Editor and Project Manager starting salary ranges from £35k to £40k per year, depending on experience.
Expect a long and lucrative career (we have a very high retention rate) – the market in publishing is buoyant and above all the people in it are great.
Working hours for this position are Monday – Thursday, 9am. to 5:30pm and 9am to 4.30pm (lunch 30 minutes) Fridays.
This role is also available on a Part-Time basis. Please state on your application if you are applying for a part-time position.
Interviews will be held on Skype on an ongoing basis.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
– Excellent proficiency in English grammar and spelling.
– Experience in the Children’s Publishing industry as an Editor is essential.
– Experience in Educational Publishing, ideally in Project Management, is essential.
– QA in Educational Publishing is essential.
– Experience in briefing illustrators and working with multiple designers.
– Proficient in Excel, Adobe Suite and Word.
– Multi-task individually or as part of a team.
– Mac and social media savvy.
– Organised to a diagnosable level.
– Personable and friendly attitude.
– Flexible and accommodating to a client’s needs.
– Generally brilliant and making things happen on your own.
