Teacher: Vicky Patoulioti, Head Talent Scout for the ITSme Society agencies.
Our Director of Marketing, Emily, sat down with our Talent Source Manager, Vicky, to discuss the best ways to apply to an ITSme Society agency.
Emily: First, can you tell us a little bit more about ITSme and the ITSme Society Agencies?

Emily: How do I submit to an ITSme Society Agency?
Vicky: All artists, no matter where they are based in the world, their background, emerging or established are invited to share their work with us! Please take a moment to read through the ITSme Repped section on our website to learn more about the ethos, character, and style of each of our partnering agencies.
Once you have identified the agency/ies you are interested in joining, please submit a collection of images or a link to your online portfolio/ website to hello@itsmegroup.com. Be sure to include in the subject line the name of the agency/ies of your choice. Also, we do not require CVs that take too much of your time just a quick intro about your practice. Alternatively, you can contact us via our website here.
Emily: What happens after my submission?
Following your submission, you will receive an email from us to confirm we have received your work. During the review, we make sure your portfolio is thoroughly examined internally before sending it to the agencies. Please note that we will always prioritize the agency noted in your submission email, however, if we find that your work is most suitable for one of its sister agencies we will circulate it to increase the chances of you getting signed and thus, getting the illustration work that best suits you and your goals.
It usually takes up to 10 days to receive an answer on whether your submission has been successful from the moment you receive our confirmation email.
Once an agency is interested in taking the next steps with you, a second review will take place after which the team will determine how they want to proceed: A) proceed with signing B) Develop your portfolio with you C) Decide they are not ready to go forward with representation at this time.
A.) On the occasion the team is happy to proceed with representation, we will take care of all the paperwork, making sure you are meticulously informed about our signing and onboarding process, so please feel free to ask questions, we are here to help! We will set up your artist profile, design your first portfolio with the agency and ensure you look on point for your clients. Additionally, we help you get in direct contact with your new agent and introduce you to their full team.
B.) If the agency decides they want to develop your work with you, you will be assigned an agent who will be assisting you all the way throughout the process. Note that this does not mean you are signed at this stage, however, if the agency feels your work is strong enough after the development phase you will be offered a contract and officially be launched as one of our artists.
C.) In this case, the team decides they are not ready to proceed with representation, you will receive an email with additional information on how to connect with us through our website, use our exceptional ITSme Learning resources to help you develop your portfolio to get signed in the future, and will be offered a chance to promote your work through our Instagram campaign.
But that’s all for later…
All you have to do right now is share your work with us and we’ll take care of the rest! Interested in joining — check out our submissions page here.
