ITSme Launches New Writing Mentorship in Collaboration with CWLA

Published on 27/07/2023

ITSme Learning doesn’t just have resources for illustrators but for authors as well. Our free resources have recently been illustration focused, but we have staff who are experts in the publishing industry working to bring you more resources on writing, book design, and more.

This writing focused initiative launches our new ITSme Learning Writing Mentorship, in collaboration with one of our ITSme Society agencies, Caroline Wakeman Literary Agency. Similar to our illustration mentorship, this will be a 3-month program with multiple 1-1 meetings, email feedback, exclusive learning videos, and more.

Our new Writing Mentorship is a personalized program to help authors (both aspiring and professional) develop a current story and learn more about the publishing industry and the marketability of their work. We have been working closely with CWLA founder Caroline Wakeman, as well as Lil Chase, senior editor, on the contents of this course. They are both published chapter book authors, and have helped countless writers become published authors. They are now here to help you.

We are launching with a chapter book focused mentorship, and online course, which will be followed by mentorships in picturebooks and board books in 2024. Authors will be able to choose an area of focus, early chapter books, middle grade, or young adult.

Our first Writing Mentorship program will debut this September, with Lil Chase as the mentor. Lil is currently the senior editor at CWLA. She has over 15 years of experience in the publishing industry as a writer and editor. Before joining CWLA, she was a reader and editor at Cornerstones Literary Consultancy and the senior editor at Working Partners. We are thrilled to be working with Lil on this new Writing mentorship.
