Born in Florence, Italy, on 12/29/1981, Rosalia grew up in the city visiting museums daily, making a mess with her painting colors and drawing on the walls athome, all under the watchful eye of a proud father, who was also a painter, and a displeased mother. Herchildhood was influenced by Rien Poortvliet’samazing work and Russian fairytales, a book illustrated by the Provensen.At age 15 shewent to the school’s theatre, where she worked as a professional for 18 years. She has foundillustration and theatre to be very close and utilises all of her experiences in her work. Rosalia now lives in Sicily, with her partner and four crazy cats workingas an illustrator.With her illustrations she tries to create a door where childrenand adults can hide from the real world, and cure their heart, just like illustrated books cured mine
