Vanessa Matte

Published on 21/03/2022

Vanessa grew up in Quebec, Canada surrounded by cats and books, always coloring, drawing, painting and reading. Her teachers used to say that she was an artist at heart, but she herself couldn’t see it and thought they were being quite silly. Little did she know…After high school, she went on to study visual arts for 2 years and then film animation for 3 years. After graduating in 2015, she worked for a few years in mobile games before striking out on her own to become a freelance illustrator. She now spends her days in her new work uniform (her pink sleepy bear pajamas) drawing colorful characters and locations from her home studio in Ottawa. She loves new challenges and is ready to tackle anything!
