New Signed Artist: Bethan Janine Westran

Published on 07/02/2019

Bethan is an Illustrator and surface pattern designer from Sheffield. Growing up in a creative family she found her passion for drawing at an early age, inspired by the flora and fauna of Yorkshire, she also loves Japanese and Scandinavian design, vintage kids books and botanical illustration. She has a degree in fashion design which led to her love for textiles, pattern and colour, starting her career as a womenswear print designer in London. Moving back to Sheffield in 2011 she became freelance and has since worked with a range of global clients for fashion, home, editorial, book illustration, packaging, fabric and stationary. She draws everything by hand before colouring digitally, layering bold shapes of colour with line work on top, she likes to use lots of detail and geometric patterns. When she’s not drawing she loves walking with her Border terrier Bear and relaxing with various sewing and craft projects.

“My experience with you at Itsme has been wonderful, you were very quick to answer my questions no matter how silly and I felt very well looked after and supported through the process.”

-Bethan Janine Westran
