We are excited to share that Advocate Art illustrator, Sawyer Cloud, has been longlisted for the Association of Illustrators’ World Illustration Awards 2023!
The chosen piece of hers is from the picture book “Delphine Denise And The Mardi Gras Prize”, published by Albert Whitman in January 2022. This joyful story, inspired by the author’s own experience celebrating Mardi Gras in New Orleans as a child, reminds readers that winning isn’t everything and the best way to let the good times roll is in the company of friends.
Sawyer Cloud is an illustrator based in her home country, Madagascar. She’s a passionate and dedicated illustrator specializing in children’s books, her all-time favorite job! Though she didn’t have the chance to study at an art school, she did a lot of research on illustration and the publishing industry before leaving her position as a first-grade teacher to focus exclusively on her art. Since joining Advocate Art in 2020, she has been able to work on many titles with most of the major publishers.
