New Signed Artist: Daniela Carvalho

Published on 06/07/2019

Lima-born, Barcelona-based artist with studies in graphic design, fine arts and illustration. Her career started 15 years ago as an art director in the Advertising world, but she decided to dedicate herself entirely to illustration when she moved to Barcelona in 2008. Her work explores the beauty of the unknown and her attraction to the transformation of nature. She believes in the human, using pencil, paper, pen and ink, as a way to create a truer register of human nature that is possible through digital means. Rather than rejecting or negating the digital, her work reinterprets modes of digital distortion to unsettling and expressive effect, created by hand in a post-digital era.
