Illo Agency artist Shirley Hottier was asked by Rebel Girls, a publishing house based in San Francisco, to create a portrait for an upcoming project in collaboration with Nike, to celebrate UEFA Women’s EURO in London this summer.
They are highlighting community organizations that uplift young girls and women and felt Shirley was the best person to reimagine Sport dans la Ville which is led by Chaïma Amara.
Rebel Girls is a global empowerment brand dedicated to raising the most inspired and confident generation of girls through content, experiences, products, and community.
Sport dans la Ville supports young people from low-income neighborhoods on their way to success. Through sports, they transmit important values for their personal development and their professional integration.
Their mission: To promote equal opportunities.
The illustration is animated and featured on Nike’s website – here’s the homepage, and a link directly to Shirley’s art.
