I was born in Russia, but grew up in Mexico City. I can’t remember a time when I haven’t been drawing. I studied product design because I thought I would draw a lot. Life took me from Mexico to Italy, backto Mexico, then to the UK, and finally to WesternCanada, where I currently reside with my husband and two kids.Itwas in England that I decided I wanted to become an illustrator. I did online classes, and tons of practice in my home studio. I keepasketchbook with meand draw things that catch my attention, mostly people or animals.I usea variety of traditional media, and my sketchbooks smell of hairspray, which I use to fix my drawings.I am an avid reader. I devour historical fiction, and can’t resist a whodunit. I also have a vastpicture book collection, which I pass as my children’s personal library.Udayana was born in Russia, but grew up in Mexico City.
