Access our Self Paced Courses Now!

Published on 15/01/2024

Our Character Study Intensive and Graphic Novel Boot Camp courses are now live.

In addition to our free resources and mentorship programs, we have been hard at work developing these on demand courses. We know people lead busy lives, and might not have time for a full mentorship, so we wanted to create something they could do in their own time, and with specific focuses of study.

Both the Character Study Intensive and Graphic Novel Boot Camp courses were designed directly with top Advocate Art and Astound US Inc. agents, Advocate Art Agent Erin Tisdel, Astound US Inc Agent Aurora Barlam, as well as our own creative director, Bhavi Patel (also an Advocate Art Agent), and marketing director, and former Astound US Inc Agent, Emily Coggins.

A lot of love, care and time has gone into these courses. But more importantly, so did all of our inter agency expertise.

What will you learn in the Graphic Novel Boot Camp?

  • Mastering different audiences
  • Improving your sequential artwork
  • An understanding of the flow and timeline of graphic novel jobs
  • Technical specs of how to package your final files
  • The importance of having graphic novel illustrations in your portfolio

What will you learn in the Character Study Intensive?

  • The fundamentals of character design and development
  • Creating visually striking & meaningful characters
  • How character studies can help you attract more agents and clients
  • Differences in drawing human vs animal characters, and anthropomorphic animals and objects

Once you enroll in a course, you will have access to the videos and assignments for up to 1 year. This way you can watch and work at your own pace! All illustrators who enroll will also be entered into a chance to win a free portfolio review.
