Illo illustrator, Justine Allenette Ross, is the first artist to lend her design skills and set the aesthetic for a new Podcast series from the BBC World Service Trust. It’s called ‘Untold Legends.’
She created a really eye-catching piece as you’ll see below, based on a forgotten legend of American sport: Miss Ora Washington. You might know this tennis and basketball star, were it not for the color of her skin. She was dominant in both sports for over two decades and was in all likelihood the first Black star in women’s sports in the United States. Renee Montgomery investigates Ora’s inspiring and powerful story.
