Whether you’re an illustrator who’s been working in the industry for a number of years, or someone who is at the beginning of their career, there are a number of reasons why professional coaching and mentorship programs may be right for you.

The most important reason being that it can help you find direction within your career, in order to help you take the next steps to reaching your goals. Even established illustrators like to change it up now and again, and want to venture into new avenues, and working with mentors can help put those dreams into action.

One of the great things about working with a mentor is that they can provide you with honest insights, impartial advice, manage your expectations, and help put realistic plans in place that align with where you want to move towards. Coaching is a holistic approach, which is completely personalised and tailored to the artist’s needs. It is designed to be a transformative process, giving you the opportunity to dive deeper into your artistic practice, open yourself up to new approaches and challenge yourself.

We have seen many benefits to artists undertaking mentorship programs. By pairing up with active working professionals of the industry, they are able to take their portfolio to the next level, but this time with a clear idea of specific products, clients and audiences they can target their work towards. As a result of this journey, artists have been to achieve the foundational tools and knowledge to fast track their careers, gain representation with agencies and get paid commissions in the field they’re interested in. In a nutshell, coaching and mentorships can help you be a pro, doing what you enjoy!
